Accreditation Assistance
Laboratory accreditation is a thorough process of auditing that provides clients a means to evaluate its reliability, competence and performance. It also ensures that the laboratory is performing testing according to acceptable international standards, thus allowing customers to have confidence in their test results. In the US clinical laboratories follow the standards of and receive accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP) while public health labs follow the guidelines of and receive accreditation from Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA). Most countries around the world follow the standards of the International Standards Organization (ISO) and there are many for-profit organizations that provide accreditation services based on ISO standards.
Preparation for accreditation is a long, tedious and often complicated process. GBS helps laboratory clients to prepare for the accreditation process through training workshops, presentations and practice audits. We serve laboratories interested in ISO standards 17025 (Testing and Calibration Labs), 15189 (Medical Labs) and 22000 (Food Safety Management).
