Mobile Solutions
One of the pressing issues in many developing countries is effective ways to deliver healthcare to people especially those living in remote areas. On one hand it is not feasible to build clinics and medical centers in remote areas because
- The population is often sparse
- Staffing becomes an issue in distant locations
- The cost of such endeavors may be prohibitive
On the other hand, it is not practical to expect patients from remote parts of the country to travel long distances to receive necessary healthcare in well-established urban medical centers.
One possible solution to this problem is to provide healthcare to citizens living in remote villages and towns using Mobile Healthcare Units (MHU). MHUs are miniature mobile medical centers that are capable of providing basic clinical and medical services, including minor surgeries practically anywhere. Each MHU is made of one or more vehicles that are custom-fitted with the appropriate facilities and equipment to serve one specific purpose. The professional staff will be on a rotating schedule where each staff member will be on “tour” for a maximum of 3 days per week. Each MHU mission will last only 1 day (12-18 hours, including travel time).
GBS will work with clients to develop exact specifications as per client’s needs. We will then work with top US manufacturers of MHUs to deliver the client’s requirements and provide the necessary technical training, management assistance and maintenance.
